Lady Bay School in the Local Community
Respect - Supporting Framework with our Harvest Festival donations
We are always looking for ways to inspires and think about our children's personal development. Harvest Festival is a great time to think about what we have to be thankful about in our lives and to also discuss those who have found themselves in difficult times. This week, we focused on the work that Framework do. Framework have an office and two properties a few doors down from the school. We talked about loss, homelessness and how we can support others. It was fantastic to see so many donations and the support from the parents was amazing. The year 6 children really enjoyed delivering the items and the team at Framework were really grateful. A positive experience all round.
Respect - Lady Bay at Skylarks
It is so important that we are focused on the personal development of our children. We took 30 children to sing carols to the residents of Skylarks. We talked to the children beforehand to ensure they understood that the residents had dementia and the impact that singing can have on them. We had so many positive comments from the staff and partners of those that resided there. A gentlemen came up to us to say that it was so lovely to see his wife smiling again. As we move forward as a school, it is our intention to become more and more involved in our community.
